David Moyes has warned that he doesn’t have a player capable of stopping Chelsea’s Eden Hazard in a man marking role.
The Blues come visiting at lunchtime against one of the darkest Hammers backdrops to a match for years.
Moyes and everybody in the squad knows how desperate a win or at the very least a point would be but the brutally honest manager is refusing to raise false hope.
He has put the squad through rigorous and intensive training since his arrival but can see nobody capable of man marking the Belgium star.
He said: I’ve done it in the past with other players like David Silva at Manchester City.
“The problem is I don’t know if I’ve got someone who is that type of player to be a man-marker.
“I had people at Everton who could do it. With Silva I put Jack Rodwell on him.
“It needs to be people who are athletic and quick. Looking through the squad I couldn’t really identify anyone who could do that.”

He reads a game , can make killer and educated passes and scores goals , he’s one of the missing type links in this team , Rodwell was pants IMO ! Showed promise then dumped to Sunderland ? Rice is the only one in our squad who comes near it, but he would be needed at the back right now.
Carvhalo would be the right player to buy in the window, but the chances are about 15% at the moment.
With a £30 war chest I put it at o% fishes ! Maybe Scrooge will see the light ? 😕
