Poll: Who would you like to manage West Ham?

|

Who would you like to manage West Ham next season from a C&H shortlist of five candidates?

David Moyes, the former Everton, Manchester United and Sunderland manager comes to the end of his six-month contract with a win ratio of  26.32%. He fulfiled his target of keeping West Ham in the Premier League.

Rafa Benitez joined Newcastle after getting sacked by Real Madrid, he previously turned down West Ham in the eleventh hour to take the Spanish champions job. He has a 46.34% win ratio with the Magpies after 82 games in charge with 38 wins, 18 draws and 26 loses to his name.

Unai Emery has the best win ratio in Ligue 1 of any other PSG coach, triumphing in 77.78% of his league matches in charge. Only Blanc has recorded a ratio higher than 70 per cent at the club previously. His contract with PSG finishes this summer.

Thomas Tuchel left Borussia Dortmund in 2017 with a record of 68 wins, 23 draws, and 17 defeats in 108 games, with an impressive win ratio of 62.96%.

Marco Silva the former Hull City Watford manager was sacked by the Hornets in January  with the club citing the “unwarranted approach by a Premier League rival” that caused “significant deterioration in both focus and results to the point where the long-term future of Watford FC has been jeopardised”  He managed a win ratio at Hull of 36.4% and just  30.8% at Watford from his 26 games in charge winning 8, drawing 5 and losing 13.

Wow surprised by the results so far personally would prefer Wenger he will get us to the level we need to be at and will teach the players to pass properly, with the kids in our youth team could be a real god send but probably feels like a break from the PL after his many years at Arsenal.

I’d rather stick with Moyes than any other other candidates, Not that Sully is too concerned with what the ordinary punter thinks,

Unai Emery all day long for me. 3 consecutive Europa League wins with Sevilla before PSG job. Tried to get him before Bilic came in but he had bigger fish. Now he’s a free agent. We need someone who knows how to give the players a winning mentality, and trophy winning mentality at that – plus his sides play good passing football, something we’re all craving! We need to try something new and/or radical like get a big name in the big dugout seat, not recycle the same old names around the clubs.

Agree. The best out there by a country mile.

Also wanna add that Emery was had a stint at Valencia before Sevilla and stopped them from free-falling when they were in financial ruin and selling all their best players, so he knows how to get the best from an average crop – he’s one who has experienced both the rags and riches of football with success in both scenarios.

I think getting good players in is much more important than who manages the club. To do that we have to see big changes in the recruitment policy, as discussed on here many times. i think a poor manager can drag your club down, but I don’t believe any of the so called genius managers could turn eg Sunderland, Stoke (or us!) into PL top six. The ‘top’ managers normally get big transfer budgets & players who get paid big wages. Yes, you can quote exceptions of sides with low wage bills who do well for a season or twoe.g. Dyche. But that is usually the exception that proves the rule & does not last. Look at Wagner at Huddersfield. He was being hailed as a genius a few months back. Now they are hanging on for their lives.

Good, big name managers attract good players, but will we pay the money for a handful of good players?

Unable to vote because the ads are blocking the voting and the trouble voting link.

  • crewehammer says:

I won’t be voting as we currently have a manager and I believe that being a supporter you do just that.

  • Clive says:

agreed crewe hammer. no loyalty these days. john lyall wouldnt have lasted long with todays fickle short termism. Thanks mr moyes, mr pearce etc for saving our club from relegation, we are rewarding you by sacking you and replacing you with a foreign puppet manager who will work for less and doesnt mind mr sullivan interfering with all aspects of running the club especially transfers.. there will be no long term planning for the future because we will replace the manager every five minutes and get by on loan signings and old has beens who are past their best, as long as we dont have to spend any money.

  • mooro66uk says:

Well you can vote for Mr Moyes. It’s not as if they have left him out .

  • Clive says:

as we all know these negative polls are mostly for the benefit of those with the permanently disgruntled moaner type of character trait. everyone else knows we will have moyes as manager next season anyway whether you like it or not. does someone follow my every post with some sort of snide comment or is it just me.
