11 July: 3pm kick off

Barry Fry, Director of Football at Peterborough United, has sent a message of thanks to the two Davids ahead of this Saturday’s pre-season friendly.

Posh and the Irons line up against each other at London Road – and it will be a match that sees Slaven Bilic take full charge of the Hammers

And Fry is delighted at the prospect of welcoming Bilic and the Irons. He said: “It’s an honour for us. The Irons will also be the first team to step onto the pitch after we spent £200,000 relaying it.

“We have been promised West Ham will put out a full first team, and with tickets priced at £10 and £5 it should be a great afternoon.

“David Sullivan and David Gold are, of course, my former employers and I’m very grateful to them for giving us this fixture. The squad looks to be taking a good shape and I think it was a great call to make Slav the new boss. I think he can take you to the next level.”

Confirming a strong line-up for the clash against the Division One side, David Sullivan said: “We shall be sending the first team up to London Road.”
