Moyes must not get left behind

|

By Gonzo

Sources close to the club yesterday informed Claret & Hugh that David Moyes was still ‘deciding’ whether to recruit more players. The transfer window closes tomorrow, so it certainly less that ideal to be indecisive at such a late stage.

There are two main reasons why I believe additional players should be brought in. Firstly West Ham are going through something of an injury crisis, with defensive and forward areas particularly badly affected.

Secondly the clubs around us in the table have strengthened with the exception of Crystal Palace and Everton. I think it’s fair to assume that Sean Dyche will make a few emergency squad additions, as he bids to improve the Toffee’s league position.

Aston Villa & Bournemouth have spent nearly £30m each, with Leicester, Wolves, Saints and Forest all spending more than the Hammers. Leeds are starting to produce improved performances and have just supplemented that with an additional £35m of spending.

West Ham of course have signed Danny Ings during this window, but unfortunately he has sustained an injury on his debut.

Only two possibilities here, either he doesn’t know what he wants, or he can’t find what he wants.
The biggest issue i have is that he doesn’t seem to have the confidence to play young exiting fit and healthy youngsters, but is willing to pay silly money for older half knackered unfit experience. Not a good plan…..
