Poll: Where will West Ham finish this season?

|

SugarYesterday Paul Merson predicted West Ham will finish in seventh place in the Premier League this coming season. This has been backed up by  rival Spurs fan Lord Sugar also predicting a seventh place finish for the Hammers. West Ham finished seventh place last season but will we replicate that again?  Do you agree?

we’ve seen teams like Spurs & Everton have bad league form while playing in the Europa league and should we make it to the group stage, i just don’t think we will be able to get off to the same good start we had last season.. i hope i’m wrong, but being a West Ham fan kinda makes me a pessimistic person

I have been optimistic and gone for 6th, it could be another funny year hopefully where everyone is beating each other and the status quo is not maintained, we have the challenge of Europa if we can get past Astra, who knows how that might affect us, we also need to hope Antonio isn’t played as a right back and Reid isn’t played as a right centre back, if Slav can put round pegs in round holes our new signings settle in well then it could be a real good season again, if we finish in and around the European places again I will be very happy, its easy to see the money being spent by Utd, City, Chelsea etc and thinking they should do better but they all have new managers which can work against them if they get behind the curve early doors, I am still not convinced by Liverpool they play well one week and get thumped the next, Everton with Koeman could do well and Stoke have made some good signings. Whatever happens let’s enjoy the journey COYI!!!

Yep there could be a lot of factors to take into account this season, possible Europa Lg,new home ground, other teams coming to the os wanting to turn us over on their first visit.I can see a 7th to 10th finish depending if we qualify or how far we get in Europe.

Tenth or thereabouts if we go for Europa, and don’t sign or sell anyone,if we get the 5 signings Slav wants,we’ve got two of them now,so three more additions and Sky’s the limit given these are quality players. COYI

I have gone 5th and hate myself for not going 4th but unless we add another striker like Bony to our ranks I don’t trust sicknote going the distance,
I wwould also offer Reid to the Gooners in a swap for there Right Back as we would be in a better place and they need a CH,
23 Hippo fans go for relegation nothing new there
    Just my opinion

I went for top ten (don’t lynch me just yet). I very much hope I’m wrong and we finish well above but with the injuries we have/delays to some players returning, extra Europa games and tricky early fixtures, I think there is potential for a slower start than we would like. Add to that of course the new managers at chelski and citeh, and with Klopp looking like he’s got Liverpool in shape, I think this will be a more difficult season than last year. Looking forward to the inevitable car crash at manure though with Mourinho! And think Wenger may finally lose his grip on a cl spot.

With a few weeks left though, hopefully a couple more signings will help us get to where we want to be. Would love to see Mata come in. Despite his questionable taste in previous employers, he is a class act and the thought of him, Dimi and Manu pulling the strings in our team would get me dreaming of silverware and maybe even the CL! COYI!!!

The correct answer is ‘who knows – your guess is as good as mine!’ – if they do half as well as last Season I’ll be more than satisfied!
