West Ham were tonight refusing to rule out a January loan move for summer target Michy Batshuayi
The Belgian international was a Hammers target or a long time but after reportedly lodging a £38 million bid were hijacked by Chelsea nearing deadline day.
Now speculation has arisen that the Irons could go in for the young striker on loan given his limied appearances at Stamford Bridge.
He has made four Premier League appearances for one goal and although there has been no contact between the two clubs a top Hammers insider refused to rule it out.
He told us:: “It’s one that we continue to monitor but I’m not sure it’s one that Chelsea would entertain. We haven’t had any contact at ths stage but you never say never. ”
He would be a good signing for West Ham. More of a striker than Ayew, and likely to be a lot more effective than the two we have on loan.
There is no chance of him coming over in January. They would not let him go and we cannot afford the wages. Even if we sent Tore and Zaza back. More trash talk.
At least Ayew knows the league and has scored here. Batshuayi could be another Zaza that needs time to adjust
