Liverpool steward had a ticket

|

StewardA photo of a Liverpool fan in a High visibility Steward’s jacket went viral on social media on Sunday as it purported to show the lengths Liverpool fans would go to get into the game. The twitter post with a photo said “Crazy Liverpool fan dressed as a Steward at the West Ham game to get in and support his team”

However, operators London Stadium 185 insist the Liverpool fan had a valid away ticket for the match and was only challenged because of his unusual choice of coat.

A source close to the operators laughed off the incident saying: “The fan did not invade our security or pose as a  London Stadium steward, he came in the same way as every other supporter, through the turnstile. We did stop him and ask him to show his ticket but he didn’t break any stadium rules and wasn’t passing himself off as a steward despite his unusual choice of jacket”
