Slaven Bilic: ‘A few players will go’

|

slaven1Slaven Bilic has used his regular London Evening Standard column to confirm that some fringe players will go this summer and has insisted the club will need to refresh the squad with quality rather than quantity.

Writing for the London Paper Bilic said

“Now, after this final game, we will try to improve the squad. We need quality, not so much quantity.

A few players will go and some are not happy with the minutes they have played. We have to refresh our squad and improve our first XI. The injury situation also needs to be looked at and we will discuss all these things when I meet David Sullivan on Monday.

Yes, it has been hard and exhausting at times but, as I have said, it has been priceless and I believe firmly that, after a rest, we will all benefit from this experience.”

Only if you, ie the club, actually does learn and actually does something about putting it right. No more looking for bargain basements, no more loan signings, no marquee signing attempts, you aren’t going to get good out of contract players either because if they were good then they wouldn’t be out of contract. You are going to need to put your hands in your pocket and invest in players that will help build a team, good hungry players who have something still to prove. Please let Carroll leave too, just not going to get enough playing time from him to support his retention.
