Stoke chairman Peter Coates has been told to clean up the ‘garbage’ at his club rather than attack West Hm new boy Marko Arnautovic.
Coates launched a blistering attack on our £24 million signing for a lack of loyalty but has now had it returned with interest by the attacker’s brother Daniel who is also his agent.
Speaking to The Sun he said: “Why Marko left Stoke I won’t tell you. I can only say that Mr Coates should clean up his own garbage within the club walls before pointing fingers at anyone outside of it.
“What exactly I mean is up to the club to reveal, as this is the last time I will comment on anything Stoke say.
“I’d personally like to thank Stoke for the courage they had four years ago when they signed my brother.
“But to be honest, I was expecting a little bit more respect from certain people within the club instead of reading attacking articles.”

Lets be honest he wasn’t loyal, like Payet he collected his signng on and loyalty fees and moved on anyway, having said that Stoke have seen a massive return on him from the £3m or so they paid so at the end of the day no one is losing out of this. I think the Arnautovic camp should keep it quiet, its not cool to say he has moved to us because we are bigger club or whatever, just seems a bit off with me like he is disrespecting the people that gave him a chance but as has been said by others I guess thats modern footballers for you, Joe Hart is telling people how he loved us and all that rubbish, they must thing we are thick, they come to us because we offer them something that makes sense financially or career wise for them, footballers are ,mercenaries.
I’m not sure that’s true 32. He hardly compares to Payet, he was at Stoke for 4 years and is moving to his “his bigger club” in this prime at 28 years old. I think Stoke fans will respect that. Coates should’ve kept his mouth shut (all Chairmen take note) because he’s on a bit of a loser here, if Coates showed ambition he would’ve turned West Ham down. My guess is Coates reckons £24M is good business.

Hi John, he had only just signed a new contract making him the highest paid player in Stoke history for which he would have received a signing / loyalty bonus first sniff of some extra cash and he was off, I don’t mind of course I am happy that we have got him, I really rate him as a player but I wouldn’t consider loyalty as one of his assetts 🙂

Footballer moves to what might be percieved as a better job on better money and they are mercenary.
Anyone else does it and no one bats an eyelid as its logical to move somewhere where you will earn more if someone headhunts you.
