Oggy, Oggy Oggy…class, class, class,

|

ClaretandHugh’s PlayerWatch man Daniel Leach takes a look at every move made by Angelo Ogbonna tonight and was majorly impressed.

2 – Presses highly on Sanchez preventing him from receieving the ball from McTominay
4 – Beats Lingard to a header on the the halfway line after a long ball from Shaw
19 – Clears a low Shaw cross away from danger
22 – Tackles Valencia on the edge of the area but Valencia regains the ball
30 – Beats Lingard to a header from a De Gea free kick
40 – Intercepts a Valencia back heel to Sanchez in the box
47 – Clears the ball off the goaline as Sanchez chips Adrian who had rushed off from the goal
70 – He jockeys Sanchez very well who recieves a through ball on the edge of the box forcing him all the way to the corner flag
75 – Heads away a Pogba ball into the box to Mario
80 – A ball by Sanchez into the box to McTominay is cleared away
90 – Clears the ball away from danger for a throw

Verdict – 8 – Our main man at the back had a fine match tonight as he dealt with Sanchez and Lingard superbly. His tackling, interceptions and distribution from the back was class as usual. He also commanded the back 5 very well and transitioned well into a back 4 when Carroll came on. I hope along with Rice – who by the way was exceptional – they will be the heart of our defence for some time to come.

Oggie was tremendous, as was Zabaleta..
However, special mention for Adrian-he is good enough for West Ham!!

Rice was also immense. His precsion takling is pretty unique in our squad. He hardly misses one.
As moyes says, the whole team put in a good shift when they might have been thinking about packing for their holidays.
