Report: West Ham linked with Chelsea midfielder

|
Media reports have linked Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus Cheek with a permanent move to either West Ham or Everton this summer as well as Crystal Palace where he spent last season on loan. The midfielder who joined Chelsea’s academy when he was eight has struggled to break into the first team at Stamford Bridge playing just 22 in four years since his senior debut in 2014.Loftus-Cheek was an integral part of  Crystal Palace’s side and he helped steer them away from relegation trouble.

The 22-year-old’s performances earned him an England call-up last November and he’s been selected as part of Gareth Southgate’s squad for this summer’s World Cup. Hodgson has made it clear that he wants to sign Loftus-Cheek on a permanent basis but the youngster may receive other offers over the summer which could include.West Ham

Former Chelsea player Pat Nevin does not think he has a Chelsea future and has urged him to get regular first-team football to avoid stalling his development. “He’s done well,” he told West London Sport.“But there’s a difference between playing at Crystal Palace and aiming to be a player at a top four club like Chelsea.

“People are saying he just needs a chance and should be given a chance but it’s very different at Chelsea.

“He needs to be playing regularly at a high level and Chelsea can just go out and buy world-class players.

“I don’t think that it is fair on a young player if he only gets 10 games as part of a squad next season. I don’t like to see a young player’s growth being stifled.”

This is the kind of signing I would really like the club to be making a young player with PL experience and someone who in a season or two could double or treble in value. He would slot into the midfield adding fresh legs and an eye for goals.RLC would also benefit working under Pell
