West Ham barometer revealed

|

Our thanks to Andy Dennis for producing this West Ham barometer for Claret and Hugh which he will update after every game.

While West Ham currently sits in seventh place one point off third place on seven points above Manchester United, Spurs and Chelsea this West Ham barometer looks at corresponding games last season matching newly promoted teams against relegated teams in order of 2018/2019 league position.

After four games West Ham are one point better off so far in the corresponding games. The Man City defeat was no surprise although we conceded one extra goal compared to last season. We fared better against Brighton with an away point after losing one-nil last season. Wins against Watford away and a home win against Norwich City (matched with Cardiff City) have followed last years form so that leaves us one point better off so far.

Next up after the International break is Aston Villa away matched with Huddersfield who we drew against so a win there would propel us 3 points better off. After that comes Manchester United at home with the Hammers hoping to match another win like last season.
