Hammers hopes rise with Toon facing injury issues

|

Haller could be on the bench

The Hammers have to have a very realistic chance of taking something from this afternoon’s game at Newcastle.

So far the Toon  have returned from the break with wins over Sheffield United and Bournemouth, a home draw against Villa and a defeat against Manchester City.

The Hammers meanwhile are likely to have another player back in Seb Haller whom, the grapevine suggests, will see him starting on the bench.

The Geordies, meanwhile, have a build up of injuries with Sean Longstaff, Jamaal Lascelles and Joelinton  all doubtful  while Florian Lejeuene could miss the remainder of the season.

Head coach Steve Bruce says it is “inevitable” he will make changes for his side’s fifth game in the space of 15 days.

With Villa playing at Liverpool today and the results having gone our way among all the other relegation threatened club, this is not a time to slip up and we can probably expect to seen unchanged team turning out for the Irons.

Hugh’s prediction: 1-2

So if we play Haller having defaulted on a payment will that come back to bite us ? Has anyone at the club checked ? Doubt it . Hope we dont show our usual lack of forethought.

Hugh not sure if a message I sent re playing Haller got sent properly. Basically as we have defaulted or are at least late on a payment for Haller- should he play at any point will that come back to bite us ? Has the club checked or know where we stand ?

  • Peter says:

As long as Moyes keeps same team we stand a chance of getting something . If he goes back to type and brings back Noble we will get overrun in midfield again and lose the breakaway ability that we saw against Chelsea .. Rice led from the front and those around him responded. Looked like a different team .

  • Saul says:

Chances of a late Carroll winner?!

With a couple of their better players out we should have enough to grab at least a point but we also will be tired later on.

    I tentatively predict a 2-2

    2 goals conceded yet again.

  • Graham Watts says:

Good result considering Newcastle did not have injured players after all!
