Tammy Abraham, the former Chelsea striker currently playing for Roma, has attracted interest from West Ham United and Newcastle United, according to HITC.

Roma seem open to selling Abraham this summer, but the asking price could be a sticking point. Chelsea hold a buy-back clause allowing them to re-sign him for around £30 million. West Ham and Newcastle would need to offer a similar price to secure his signature.

For West Ham, bolstering their striking options is a priority. Michail Antonio’s form has been inconsistent, and Danny Ings has just been, er.. Danny Ings. Abraham’s experience and proven goalscoring ability in both England and Italy make him a tempting target.

The chance to return to London could appeal to Abraham. Whether West Ham or Newcastle can strike a deal with Roma remains to be seen, but Abraham’s availability has certainly piqued their interest.

As we are all painfully aware, signing a quality striker should be a priority for the Hammers heading into the summer transfer window.

I hope we aren’t really after him. He had one good season in Rome. Before his knee injury last season, he was not doing well at all. Previous to that, he’s only really ever scored goals in the Championship. He wouldn’t be cheap either. Also, Roma really seem to want to sell him, which is never a good sign.

couldn’t agree more Chris…..type of signing we do not need to expensive and had a bad injury all things that never put us off in the past but hopefully wiser heads will prevail in our transfer dealings this summer.

    • Kehinde Akinmboni says:

He is a good option. I actually watch Roma. His poor form during the second season was the result of the manager changing his system. That’s never going to be easy for a striker in his second season with the club. Instead of picking up where he left off, he had to learn a new system.

  • Tezzard says:

Tricky one, had a tough couple of seasons at Roma , but still young enough to make it as a good premier league striker .

Reckon his wages would be horrible tho.

  • Kenny Irons says:

Give this one a miss, let’s try and avoid anyone who has had a serious injury – bad West Ham trait over the years signing injured players.

  • Hammers tkt holder since 1948 says:

Let’s hope since prevails and we leave alone
There will be better players for the amount involved here COYI
