Andy Carroll has summed up his feelings on the failure of his appeal against Saturday’s red card in one word: “DISGRACEFUL!!!”
The big centre forward took to his Twitter account to give his feelings just after the result came through and may have created some sort of record.
For within two hours the tweet had been re-tweeted 4,342 times and had been made a favourite by 1,620.
The player now misses the next three games as the Hammers continue their fight against relegation.
