Adrian hit by bizarre injury

|

Former West Ham top man Adrian could miss tomorrow’s game Southampton due to a bizarre injury.

After the win against Chelsea, a pitch invader collided with him during the celebration as he slipped while running from security guards.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said”A supporter jumped over something, was chased by some security guys, slipped and kicked his ankle. Crazy,”

He added: “Apart from that it was a brilliant night for him.”

The unfortunate incident happened while Liverpool were celebrating their win against Chelsea due to saving a penalty struck from Abraham.

A fan jumped onto the pitch to join the celebration and as he was grabbed by a steward he slipped and tackled several Liverpool players ending with Adrian injured.

Klopp said: “There’s no doubt about how much we love our fans, there’s no doubt about that at all, but if they all could stop doing that – that’s the worst example we have so far heard about.

“We played against Manchester City and someone ran on the pitch then. At Norwich, there was someone as well.”

ClaretandHugh says: Has someone put a curse on our former cult hero? After falling out of favour at the London Stadium before landing on his feet at Anfield he is again dogged by the worst possible luck. That he should face a lay-off after a clash with an over enthusiastic scouser fans is just crazy, as Klopp says. That it should occur after he made the penalty save to become an instant hero with his new fanbase is just bitterly disappointing for the bloke. We all hope over here that the injured ankle heals quickly and Adrian has the chance of continuing to impress in the north west. Ok,  he’s gone but the player does hold a special place in the hearts of many Hammers and this we are reporting on his present situation and hope he makes it into the team for tomorrow. The fella deserves a few breaks after his various problems at the Irons

I seriously hope Adrian get’s the opportunity to read this. Not many players can move to a league rival and still be applauded like this.

And it is so fully deserved!
