Adrian waits for Moyes decision

|

adrian-west-hamAdrian’s performance was widely acclaimed as the Hammers produced as gritty a performance as we have seen from them all season at the Etihad yesterday.

And now the pressure is on David Moyes to decide whether the time has come for the Spaniard to take over the sweater from Joe Hart permanently

The manager made it clear after the game that he thought Adrian had done really well and the keeper said:  “At the end of the day it is a defeat, we don’t get any points, so I cannot be happy, zero.

“But we troubled them, we defended well and played well on the counter attack, we had great chances to go 2-2 at the end but they are top players.

“Personally, this is my fifth season at West Ham I do my best every time I play. I hope I have more chances to play from now.

“The competition is great, so for the manager the next game we don’t know.”

Adrian deserves the start against Chelski after his performances, particularly after Joe Harts recent poor performances…..
Not that Joe Hart doesn’t have a future, but form and confidence are fleeting.
Maybe Joe needs to need it a little bit more……..?

Been saying this for weeks. Never thought Hart was good enough. Worst signing out of the lot in the summer. And now Adrian did well at the weekend how can this even be a discussion point. Total no brainer.

Moyes now has to show some guts. Adrian, Rice and Sakho should all now feature regularly in the starting line-up regardless of who else is available.

  • claret says:

If Slav had not had a grudge against Seko he would have been playing regularly by now and match fit, he had a few idiosyncrasies when it came to managing the players & I think that has contributed to the general malaise amongst the team, as previously stated the board should have sacked him in the summer & we would not. Be in this mess. a new manager would have had time to organise the players & Instill some better habits

And me , now the poppodom is on his Xmas leave sakho must start and Moyes must see he’s our #1 striker you would hope ! But we need 2 up top not 1 ! Pea and sakho for me or a fit Antonio and sakho with masuaku on the left and Arnie on the right of m/f / wingers _3-5-2
Or 3-2-3-2 ! Still need buys in Jan though ? Let’s hope we show the same commitment next game , no mention of kouyate injury ? Hammy or deadleg ?😉

Hope so we had 14 senior players. Brady said in meeting we will sell players when addressing £20m. But our squad is to thin its really 20 (Henry been injured since he came & Masaki)
We need 2-3 players now & if we sell imagine Sakho will be one we will lose our most rounded CF he will need to be replaced. Fodor Smolov looks like he could be a good buy.
But other then that we sold enough over summer can’t even recall Snodgrass & Jan is hard to get 2 good players let alone 4-5.
So they will need to back him with some money & if we get in ‘War of Dogs’ hard workers younger players & some pace we will be alirght if keep playing like yesterday
Especially if we can settle on formation & reg starting 11-15.

I’ve been Adrian #1 all season I don’t think Hart should have been got on loan we needed CB DM more. But he is here now I respected gave him chance as did Adrian took #2 spot even tho he did nothing to lose #1 over preseason or end of last season. Hart didn’t have good preseason. And Adrian tool the bench w character & passion now it is Hart’s turn to do so (but can he he came here to jeeo England spot) and that worries me if Adrian doesn’t start then something is wrong & its about wages & England spot.
What worried me to in Press conference after Journal said how haply are u with Adrian’s Performance & he didn’t really give him praise said well a lot of their shots were 30 yards out. Not true & Adrian had 2 great saves that ended up being offsides as well.
Not just that Adrian is better shot stopper but I’ve said before & it showed in game the CBs & players feel more comfortable with him in goal. Ogbonna had his best game ever, he linked up w Rice well also talked w him keeping him ready Obiang played better Kouyate was sycing with Adrian w Flick ons.
I think he was a leader & organised the back (which is one of things w expected from Hart)

I don’t think it is a coincidence we played better defensively w Adrian. And if he doesn’t start I’ll be livid.
