West Ham supporters’ may have watched their last game of the season (in person) as the government refused to rule out the banning of large gatherings due to the spread of Coronavirus.
Yesterday, France banned all indoor gatherings over 5,000 people and in Italy Juventus vs Inter Milan was among five Serie A matches to be played behind closed doors.
British Health Secretary Matt Hancock told Sky News he could not rule out banning all big events where thousands of people would gather, if the situation gets worse.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the UK is now 36, including one each in Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland – after a sudden jump on Sunday.
Premier League emergency planning is already underway if the virus is found to be spreading here, rather than just being brought in from abroad. Options consist of playing all games behind closed doors or the postponing games for several months.
How season ticket tickets would be compensated is games were played without crowds and whether every game would be broadcast or streamed live in the UK is currently unknown.
I understand what you’re saying but just washing your hands more isn’t going to stop the spread of COVID-19. Honestly, not much will.
..and what about folks who earn a living from Event Stewarding? With no income how will they survive?
Yep…. number two is not the only thing they should be “pushing hard” 🙂
This will annoy the hell out of me…..I only get to 6-8 games a season (I live in Australia) and My last two of this season are in April/May. So I might miss out.
Damnit people….. wash your hands.
Agree jimbo that’s a disgrace mate , so many guys don’t wash their hands anyway after using the toilets in UK let alone where I am in Africa. Some even after what’s called a number two also. We need to push hard on cleanliness with both guys and girls too. Imo
Whereabouts are you in Africa Razor?
Saturday 1:45. BB stand, Block H. Men’s WC. No soap or hot water to wash hands. The virus is not the only thing you can catch. What a disgrace in these times of health scares.
