Anderson hands vote of thanks to Fab

|

Felipe Anderson’s form has been the spark which has lit up the Hammers over recent games but the Brazilian knows where to put much of the credit.

It probably won’t come as the biggest surprise to learn that it’s goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski who has been at the heart of the Brazilian’s revival.

The Polish international – at £7 million – has become the  basis of all that’s good about the Hammers right now and has been right alongside Anderson as his form has got better and better.

At £7 million he has become more than just a great signing for according to the £35 million man he’s an encourager on whom he has been able to rely through the bad and good times for good advice.

He’s the coolest operator West Ham have had between the post for many years and that he has been able to advise and counsel Anderson again demonstrates that he is one of the most important figures in the dressing room.

Anderson – talking to www.whufc.com – said: ““I speak constantly to him and he gives me trust. Even when we don’t believe in ourselves he’s there, encouraging us and making us play better every time. He has been amazing for us.”

We’re starting to understand that sometimes we need to change positions, to play a bit differently and that has helped us to react more quickly on the pitch, to understand each other better.

“We managed to connect better in midfield, to keep our cool and that allowed us to be more incisive and to create more chances that way.”

Focusing on his two goals, the winger was pleased with their timing as much as their execution, coming as they did both within nine minutes of Nathan Redmond’s opener for the Saints.

For the equaliser, Felipe Anderson rifled home from 25 yards, before securing victory for his team by converting at the end of a lightning-quick counter attack led by Michail Antonio.

Looking to tomorrow (Sun) he added: ” “We lost a lot of points at the beginning of the season so right now we want to win as much as possible to keep on climbing in the table and that’s exactly the spirit we will keep on carrying on for next match against Burnley.”
