Another away Cup draw for the Irons

|

West Ham came out of the Third Round draw with another banana skin excursion away from home – this time to 17th placed League One side Oxford.

The Hammers will meet the U’s at the Kassam Stadiun in the week commencing September 23.

Oxford reached this stage following a penalty shoot-out victory over Millwall last night, having drawn the match 2-2 in the initial 90 minutes.

At this stage of the competition last season West Ham United achieved their biggest ever win at London Stadium, defeating Macclesfield Town 8-0.

Since the 1985-86 season the two sides have clashed at Oxford on seven occasions with each team winning three games and the other drawn.

The match of the round is undoubtedly the south coast derby between Portsmouth and Brighton whilst Manchester City travel to Preston North End
