Antonio: West Ham injury news update

|

Mikey Antonio has hopes of returning to the West Ham starting eleven for the titanic clash against AZ Alkmaar in Holland on Thursday evening.

David Moyes made it clear this was his major priority over the Brentford game by making nine changes with the No 9 on the side lines.

However, it turns out that this was not tactical but, as believed, because of a fitness injury. This has now been confirmed to Claret and Hugh .

It had been believed that he may have another ligament injury. But that is not the case which gives him a better than average chance of making the game.

We have been told that the injury is a dead leg which could be ok by the night of the game.

Confirming the situation our major West Ham contact said: Mikey has  a dead leg, so hopefully he will be okay but at this stage we cannot say for certain.”
