West Ham eye sensational double signing swoop

|

Spanish website El Desmarque claim that we are reportedly eyeing up what would be two  exciting summer transfer window signings.

If he stays or if he goes, David Moyes or his successor definitely needs to strengthen his squad at the London Stadium .

With Lukasz Fabianski, now 38,  Alphonse Areola facing an uncertain future and Declan Rice all but certain to leave the Hammers, the additions of a new goalkeeper and a central midfielder will feature  at the  top of Moyess’ agenda.

And it seems as though David Moyes has a really ambitious plan up his sleeve, as the Hammers boss wants to bring Valencia duo Yunus Musah and Giorgi Mamardashvili to the London Stadium this summer.

Should it happen it really would be an unbelievable double coup for West Ham.

Musah, 20, and Mamardashvili, 22, are two extremely exciting young players , and they would be be sensational additions to the West Ham squad in preparation for 2023/2024 season.

The United States international had a magnificent World Cup  for his country during the recent tournament in Qatar .

He is a real powerhouse of a central midfielder and would make a definite long-term replacement for the departing Declan Rice.

Also, the 22-year-old Valencia goalkeeper is an elite stopper in the making. He is really highly rated in Spain and according to our friends at Opta, he has conceded 66 goals in 58 games for Valencia and has kept 17 clean sheets in the process . This is whilst playing for a team currently sitting just outside the relegation zone in La Liga .

I’m not sure that there will be too many transfers in or out this summer. Areola should now be installed as our first choice keeper, with Fabianski at 38, stepping down as cover. With the signing of Paqueta last summer, opportunities for Lanzini have been very limited this season. So it seems that our number 10 will be available on a free when his contract expires soon. I keep reading that Johnson could soon be on his way out too. It’s not good to see our former academy players leave before they reach their potential. Then there’s Rice…… Frankly, I can’t see him playing in the Prem with anyone outside London. So it’s Arsenal then unless he stays to become a West Ham legend like his buddy, Noble. Anything can happen in the next couple of months.
