Awesome reviews for Irons central defender

|
  1. Reece Burke has drawn astonishing reviews at Bradford City after a hugely impressive loan period at the club this season.
The Bantams are sitting in the play off places in league One and much of that is down to the defender who has been performing like a colossus.
Fans of the club appear to believe he is Player of their Year and Hammers loanee Josh Cullen also gets an honuorable mention from them on Twitter.
    Here’s some of the comments:

Burke and Cullen a mile above our standard

went for best centre half in the league!

Great to hear the loanees are doing so well.

    Both have genuine quality.

both could be top players. Let’s hope they get the chance soon.
As for Sammulsen, he only played 40 per cent of the games at Peterborough, and quite a few of the bench, so I don’t know what to make of him. Yes he was class against WBA in the cup, but not so good against lower level teams.

I’m really liking the look of the West ham project at the moment. The scouts are excellent at finding under-the-radar talent who can see us through the next few years, and at the same time we are developing and bringing in a group of players who can be nurtured and will take over as they mature. Everything about it is s calm and measured. Seen in the context of this plan unfolding I think it’s even time to re-evaluate Big Sam. He was phase one. I wonder where we would be without the move to the Olympic Stadium…

    • sleepswithdafishes says:

although the Olympic stadium has been as part of the carrot to impress potential signings, I think the business we have done in the last two summers, can be more attributed to the recruiting team, and the money put up by the two davids.
So I would ask where would we be without our owners?

  • jaybs says:

So pleased for both! time now for the club to look at it’s policy once a youngster whatever their age is good enough, it is Premiership experience they need, not lower leagues, Burke should return without doubt next season.

  • essexclarets says:

Players like sammulsen can only play with players at league one level. It would be hard to play your best game if everyone around you are nowhere near good enough, players can’t keep up or read the game like you can. These youngsters need to start getting game time or they will start looking to go else where. Keep reading we have signed another young lad & it’s great we can attract these players. One draw back to becoming a bigger team is we need to keep getting results straight away. It will seem to be a gamble to send these lads on.
these lads are good enough that they can save us multi-millions £££. Could they be on the same level as manure class of 92′??

  • bubs says:

Burke took his chance at the end of last year and looked comfortable in our defence,
This year we chose to send him on loan and give Oxford more of a chance,
Maybe next season Reece should be in the first team squad and Oxford because he is still young have 1 season on loan at a Google Championship side that will do a lot of defending
Sunderland or Villa could be ideal
Henry needs to be given a chance as well or moved on as we are top heavy in that position,
Maybe time to et some money for Reid or Tomkins ?

    • sleepswithdafishes says:

totally agree about the 2 Reeces. Bring back Burke – send out Oxford.
As for Sammulsen, I was hoping for him to break through quick, but he hasn’t done enough, and would need more game time lower than the Prem. On the other hand he might surprise everyone in the summer.

  • essexclarets says:

We say these lads are signed for the future, just when is this future going to be?? Manure were forced to play Rashford because of injuries… how good is he??

    • sleepswithdafishes says:

obviously at a better level than Sammulsen. He needs to show more consistently than he has or they will not risk putting him in at the deep end. As you said earlier results must come first. He needs to be good enough for his chance first. I’m sure he will be eventually; he is only 18.

      • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Samuelson if he builds his strength up will be a top player, at the moment he is far too easy to knock off the ball, ie too lightweight for English Football.

  • bubs says:

Just what they said about Lanzini when he came to us,
You need to be a big lad like Messi,Silva,Sterling,Townsend,Oscar,Berinhino, Ect
Can’t all be big giant successful like Benteke,,Bony,Emineke,
We are going to play a team he has made look as bad as they are,I am not saying play him from the start but Emineke and Moses are offering us nothing at the moment and if Payet and Lanzini have an off day like against Manure he might just make the DIffrence and he is ours not some returnable loanee
Come on Fishes get that last bit of respect the point out of your DNA join the new adventurers called Hammer fans and go for it BE ENTERTAINED
    You know it makes sense
