‘Bad boy’ Zarate close to Hammers deal

|

ZarateWest Ham are reportedly very close to tying up a deal for former Inter Milan forward Mauro Zarate, according to his agent brother Rolando.

He claims the 27 year old reputed bad boy has been given permission to find a new club after falling out with the hierarchy at current club Velez Sarsfield and claims  the deal with the Irons is “nearly done.”

Despite  being top scorer in Argentina last season – we show his career record below – he fell  out with his team-mates and and management.

Zarate has Premier League experience from a loan spell with Birmingham and has also played for both Lazio and Inter Milan.

While with the Milan club, the forward had a clause inserted into his contract that paid him bonuses for assists in a bid to curb his notoriously selfish play.

The 27 year old joined the St Andrew’s outfit in 2008 and scored four goals in a relegation year, leaving at the end of the season as no long term deal was considered as a result.

2004–2007 Vélez Sársfield 99 (28)
2007–2009 Al-Sadd 6 (4)
2008 → Birmingham City (loan) 14 (4)
2008–2009 → Lazio (loan) 36 (13)
2009–2013 Lazio 68 (12)
2011–2012 → Internazionale (loan) 22 (2)
