“Bad News For Nuno” Stark Truth Facing West Ham in Transfer Window Countdown

Nuno Espírito Santo and West Ham have a major challenge in the last few days of the transfer window in attempting to persuade anyone of quality to join them.

A top transfer source speaking exclusively speaking to Claret and Hugh tonight told us, “No top player is going into a club who have every chance of being relegated. It just doesn’t happen. Plus, the club cannot go and spend £40 million on a player that might be in the Championship.

“On top of that, any player that comes in has to take a 50% drop in wages if West Ham are relegated. No player who is any good will do that. If there is a chance for a loan signing, then they will do it, but they have to be realistic as to who would be available on loan. Centre half is the main priority, but again they face the same problems”

Unlikely to be the news that fans or indeed manager Nuno Espirito Santo want to hear.

It didn’t stop Newcastle a few years ago or Forrest pretty much every season they’ve been back in the league from signing players.

Seems like who ever is your source is suggesting we are about to be relegated into League 2 or something.
Anyone with a bit of self belief and confidence, will feel they can help the team get back to where they should be and therefore would jump at the chance of signing for West Ham.

At the end of the day we are a big club, and any player that thinks they are bigger or better than West Ham should be left well alone.

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Any player that comes in doesn’t have to agree to 50% pay cut, that is a club policy it’s not mandatory if the club choose otherwise they can agree whatever contract they wish.

We could attract players and sign contracts where they can be sold at offers above certain levels if we are relegated a contract can work however it is agreed to within constraints.

There are a lot of players that would relish a few months in the PL and some that will want to try and get selected for national teams.

It’s upto Sullivan to agree the deals and get the players in irrespective of what Nuno agrees too, Nuno can be fired if he refuses to play players out of spite

We need bodies in as our squad is especially thin and we would be bang in trouble if Fernandes, Bowen or Summerville got injured.

  • Clever Trevor says:

Simple, don’t put the wages clause in the contract, then sell them if we go down.

  • James jones says:

World class team in a world class stadium. To be fair that is Sullivan idea of world class. The team currently are as world class as the stadium. When we had chance to push on each year he kept his hands in his pockets. Never pushing on. I do remember Sullivan saying we would be competing for champions league qualification when we moved to the stadium. Can’t remember ever qualifying. Oil snakes salesman now having to make excuses for his rubbish product that doesn’t deliver. Every decision of who is manager what players to buy go through Sullivan. How has that turned out!

  • Mick bering says:

And so the excuses and spin so not to spend anymore money begins IT DONT WASH ANYMORE W HAM

  • X says:

Who the hell says that no player who is any good is going to come to West Ham. Seriously. Is that the nesssge they want to put out there?

  • Benny The Aussie says:

Yes, well that is the truth at the coal face.
I think a loan(s) is the only viable solution.
We need Defensive cover as a must. We have goals in us but we have a leaky flange.

  • Phil Mycock says:

Yeah, obvious isnt it – wonder where the blame lies for all

  • Dean says:

Then I hope your mate will be prepared for the fan backlash that will be coming Sean, I remember you looking utterly shocked when you went onto the West Ham fan tv channel and they said they thought we’d get relegated just after the summer window closed, well reality is about to bite and yet, even now sulli is selling everyone he can. If you need evidence just look at the way he’s completely decimated our midfielder this month, it’s beyond imagination that we now have a midfield so light in numbers after Sullivan has scuttled it. We’ve got rid of Paq, JWP, Irving and possibly magasa if rumours are to be believed, and what has he done? Yep he’s brought in a forward who has 14 goals in 262 premier league games! It’s laughable. I now see the gaslighting is now in full swing as the propaganda machine ramps up yet again

  • Taffyhammer says:

Somebody somewhere would love to come on loan though. Problem solved.

  • Jeeps says:

Lots of excuses which everybody already knows.
Sounds like they’ve thrown the towel in.
    Well done Sullivan you’ve won.
‘We tried’ but not hard enough.
Like to say It’s not not over until the fat lady sings but fat man has last laugh.
