Three weeks without football will seem like either a drag or a welcome break – depending on where about your team sits in the division. I’ll bet Tottenham fans are looking forward to time off from all the negativity as their team simply cannot seem to buy a win – whilst for West Ham, unbeaten in six league games just now, anything which interrupts their good form might be seen as unwanted.
However after the Championship’s hectic eight game opening schedule along with two Carling Cup encounters, West Ham’s players are quite possibly looking forward to a chance to heal the bruises and, hopefully, learn how to defend long throws on the training pitch- something which still seems beyond their ability despite almost a year of working with their head coach.
Nuno Espírito Santo can now plan for his October campaign with the knowledge that his young star Mohamadou Kanté will serve a single, one game ban for his red card yesterday, according to the FA disciplinary rulebook’s interpretation of a professional foul as per hammers.news

Kante – one match suspension for his 89th minute red card
This ban will be served in the fixture against Queens Park Rangers on Friday October 7th, after which he will be free to resume his place in the squad. Quite possibly this may yield an opportunity for the return of Soungoutou Magassa who will welcome a change to get back on the pitch: The French midfielder featured on the bench for the first time yesterday after his fallout with Nuno.
No Kanté could mean Magassa’s reintegration into Nuno’s good books could be complete.
Meanwhile Hammers fans still await news of the allegations made against Taty Castellanos. Should the FA decide to investigate that further or bring charges against the Argentine who is accused of spitting at Millwall’s goalkeeper then of course we’ll let you know.
“The French midfielder featured on the bench for the first time yesterday after his fallout with Nuno.”
Magassa was on the bench for the Fulham game midweek.
A one game ban for preventing an almost certain goal is OK by me.
