Yesterday’s article concerning West Ham’s plan to secure the signing of Wolves’ Czech defender shone a light on the fans’ uproar at Molineux over the suggestion that Wolves would be willing to strengthen a Championship competitor by selling them a key player.

Wolves centre back Krejci was a West Ham target

Today BBC Sport have provided big update on that transfer story with a favourable outcome looking unlikely for West Ham. Whether the fan protest at Wolves had anything to do with their change of heart – who can say – but it seems there are a couple of reasons now preventing the Hammers from landing their target:

“West Ham unlikely to land Wolves’ Krejci:

The Hammers wanted to bring the defender – who can also play in midfield – to the London Stadium but it is understood Krejci does not want to play in the second tier.

Wolves would also not entertain selling him to a direct Championship rival.”

Which would explain the late switch today towards Nottingham Forest defender Morato.  Krejci is a team mate of West Ham’s own Tomas Soucek and there was speculation that Tornado Tom had been doing his best behind the scenes to ease his compatriot’s fears over heading to east London but – to no avail.

Morato, nobody’s first choice, seems to be the more likely bet going into the last 36 hours of the window. Shades of Brighton’s loaning of Igor Julio in 2025?

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

I do agree with you Billy in part mate. i mean. i absolutely ”DON’T-RATE-HIM-IN-THE-PREMIERSHIP” but don’t you think that he ( Killman ) has been a little better in the Championship so far. so the way i’m thinking is. get out there earning his wages instead of being ”A-BENCH-WARMER” ??? Interesting statement ‘Kremlin doesnt want to play in the 2nd tier’ aren’t wolves in the same division as us, or does the lad have illusions of grandeur.

  • Jeeps says:

Morato is going to be a Nuno signing due to their previous acquaintances.
Perhaps it’s a comeback for not signing Nelson Nuno having his last word.
6′ 4″ but can’t head the ball, slow and not versatile as he can’t play left back.
Almost seems a panic buy after not getting Disasi or Krejci.
Numerous people would have been hoping for Disasi.
    Hope Alvarez stays.

Give Wolves Kilman back in part exchange!! ….. or just give him anyway 😂
