Benrahma and King near absentees for Bees and Cherries

|

Said Benrahma appears to have become something of a Brentford outcast!

As the Hammers continue talks in an attempt to make him our player it’s significant, perhaps, given his reported ‘broken promises ‘ issue with the Bees that he is being largely left on the side-lines.

He appeared as a sub in the Championship games against Millwall and Preston whilst scoring twice in the EFL Cup match against Fulham.

Given his enormous reputation currently and £30 million valuation it may be surprising that with eight games played he has appeared so infrequently.

There is of course the possibility that – with a transfer being discussed – he is being kept from injury – but the reported  personal issues with the club may have a big bearing on his position.

The winger did after all score 17 goals in 43 appearances last season, but has fallen out with Brentford over what are understood to be ‘broken promises’.

And Mirror Sport understands 25-year-old Benrahma made contact with Bees Co-Director of Football Phil Giles over the weekend to make his position clear.

Interestingly, the other Hammers target should talks fail with Benrahma, Bournemouth’s whilst Josh King  has made one brief appearance against Norwich for the Cherries since their relegation.
