Report: Hammers to sign centre back

|

According to Danish website Bold, West Ham are set to sign Silkeborg centre back Frederik Alves Ibsen.

The report claims West Ham have agreed a £1.2m deal to sign the Silkeborg defender. The 20 year-old has also agreed personal terms and will join the Hammers in the January window.

Yesterday Norwegian journalist Jonas Giæver suggested that the central defender could join West Ham but not until the winter transfer market.

Jonas said ‘Silkeborg announced yesterday that they are negotiating a sale for central defender Fredrik Alves Ibsen with an unnamed club. I’m being informed that club the is West Ham. Alves would not move to London before the January transfer window if it goes through’
The 20-year-old from Denmark with a  Brazilian background was spotted by agent and taken to Coritiba Foot Ball Club as 15-year-old.

After two years in Brazil Alves returned to his native Denmark joining Silkeborg IF.

Initially joining the Academy on 1 one year training contract in the summer of 2018 Alves went on to sign a five-year contract in June 2019 contracting him until 2024.

Maybe our next Reid! I like deals like this don’t cost a lot but bug potential if done right. Can see Brighton have been building their loan aren’t with clever buys in CB one on loan at Derby bought a few more then LB Michail Karbownik & CM Jakub Moder huge talents. haven’t seen this kid much but he looks like a composed ball playing CB & Silkeborg are decent side that okay youth. I follow Nordsjælland a good bit bc I like their Right 2 Dream program & get a lot of talent, Midtjylland only been around since 90s but run smartly with likes of Brentford’s DOF Ankersen still involved & have talent like Evander & others. Kobehaven Jonas Wind who is tall handful of a CF & Daramy who is technical winger. Superligaen is a solid league & they play youth & aslo get talents from Brazil, Sweden, Norway, Iclenad & more. I like this buy.
I think Ecuador is a league we should scout more too it is really kicking on with some talent especially in young full back. There is talent all over & if we could get a young smart DIF like Brentford’s Ankersen only 36/37 use Analytics & scouts then we could get much more for our money. With our academy then buying young talent but also giving them chances is a must not just when they have to been thrown in bc injuries & finding the right loans. Doing this will help out financially & on the pitch finding the next big thing.. But imo need that infrastructure in place & the U21 & U18s etc to play same style of football… So we need to work for Identity. Hopefully Alves pays off
