Bidding opens on Irons striker target

|

scott-hoganWatford have shown their hand on a striker watched by West Ham for weeks by bidding £8 million for Brentford’s Scott Hogan.

The Hornets interest has been well known for some weeks but the Irons have the 24 year old very much on their radar should a bid for Jermain Defoe fail.

The Bees are looking for a minimum of £10 million – but some reports claim we have already offered £15 million for a player – who has bagged 14 goals in all competitions this season but of course remains unproven at the highest level.

However, that really doesn’t square up with ClaretandHugh’s information, where all effort are being focused on Defoe at this stage with a watching brief being kept on the Griffin Park star.

Hogan has only 18 months left on his deal and should the Irons move in with a bid of around £10 million the Championship outfit look likely to cash in.

They are mid table in the League and look to have few worries of relegation or likelihood of promotion to over-worry about.
