Bidding War Begins | West Ham Source Makes Huge Fernandes Claim Amid Transfer Interest

Claret & Hugh have been informed this morning that West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes is “1 million percent going to leave” as speculation intensifies over his future.

Within the past 48 hours, several high-profile media outlets have linked Manchester United with serious interest in the midfielder, while the BBC are reporting that Arsenal have discussed signing the once-capped Portuguese international.

Fernandes will not be travelling to the World Cup with Portugal, but remains a player in high demand.

Fernandes agent Jorge Mendes is likely to have spoken with prospective clubs

Manchester United Interest Growing

Reports suggest Manchester United have already held internal discussions regarding the 21-year-old’s wages and a potential transfer fee.

However, it is important to note that these conversations have taken place at Old Trafford and West Ham have not yet received a formal offer from any club.

That said, it is entirely plausible that Manchester United have been speaking with the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes.

There certainly appears to be an acceptance at the London Stadium that Fernandes will leave this summer.

When Claret & Hugh spoke to an outside source with knowledge of the club, we were told:

“Fernandes is 1 million percent going to leave. They need to sell before buying anyone.”

West Ham Braced For Major Sales

Despite the latest cryptic comments from Crysencio Summerville, it is clear West Ham are fully braced for the departures of both Fernandes and the Dutch winger.

As the days pass, the prospect of a £90 million cash injection from Daniel Křetínský also appears increasingly unlikely, with the club instead facing the prospect of funding its rebuild through player sales.

Křetínský is still expected to increase his shareholding, but at this stage it remains unclear whether that will come through dilution of existing shareholdings or by purchasing a larger stake from the Gold family.

The latter option would increase Křetínský’s ownership position but would not inject fresh money into West Ham itself, with the proceeds instead going directly to Vanessa Gold.

What like Nuno was a million percent leaving 😂😂😂😂

  • flv says:

He’s West Ham’s most valuable playing asset by a wide margin. Anything less than £75M would be a blow.

Gonzo this is where the board have to do their work because they have been too lazy to get anyone in to handle transfers. If they take the easy / lazy way out by selling on the cheap then it will only make the supporters more angry. If Fernades has to go the £80 to £90 million needs the price to be set. Anything less will be bad news .

What a meteoric rise for him – it shows just how hard it is to get good all-round midfielders (defensive + attacking) and you don’t question his attitude either, not for a moment.

I’m not doubting that Fernandes is going to leave but judging by the same use of language I am guessing this is the same source that said Nuno was “1 million percent” going to leave as well?
