Big respect as Lampard takes down Blues/Rice pressure

|

Frank Lampard has never been a bloke I’ve had much for or against – pretty neutral would be my best position on the former Hammer.

But I found myself feeling a bit of warmth towards him after the comments he made on Declan Rice when asked at his presser ahead of Monday’s game whether Chelsea would have regretted letting him leave Stamford Bridge seven years ago.

It was of course a roundabout way of asking whether there would be any interest in him from the Chelsea boss this winter or next summer.

If the inquisitor was looking for a tale he got one but probably not the one he expected or hoped for.

Lampard’s answer made it pretty clear – on the face of it anyway – that he and the club were probably happy with what they had from the bottom up.

For us Hammers it was encouraging to hear one former academy star paying a fulsome tribute to another giving us even more room to hope that Dec’s gonna be around for a while yet

Here’s Frank’s precise quote. I know what I make of it. I’ll leave you to make up your minds!

He is a fantastic player for West Ham and England so fair play. His journey there upon leaving Chelsea and going to West Ham is a good story to hear because there are a lot of those stories for different reasons at every level. It shows good strength of character.

From our end, I don’t think I would regret it. Our academy is one of the best in the world. You look at our first team now and all the players we have produced who are in and around the squad, we have so many.

It is not easy, it is not an exact science to pick and choose players but the academy works brilliantly here and brings through a lot of players.

Declan Rice should give himself personal credit for having the great start to his career that he has had at West Ham.

Frank Lampard is classy – as his Dad. Just because West Ham sold him to Chelsea after the sacking of his uncle and his father from their jobs doesn’t make him a bad man. Thoroughly likeable chap. Wish there were more like him.

With havin so much content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or
copyright infringement? My blog has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it
up all over the web without my authorization. Do you know
any techniques to help reduce content from being ripped off?
    I’d definitely appreciate it.

    • We run more exclusive stuff than any other – and NO . News aggregators NewsNow insist of all sites that if they are going to use copy form elsewhere they add 150 of their own unique words. The internet sadly is a washing machine – everybody uses everybody’s stuff. At least 2 or three of ours are used elsewhere every day. We get ripped off all the time If u wanna let me take a look at your stuff send to me at hugh.southon@sky.com and I will use any which I like and credit you.

Frank should get the same respect Rio gets when he visits LS. Both were great players for us from our Academy.
