Bilic doesn’t want to turn the radio on!

|

bilic-gloomSlaven Bilic has made it clear he doesn’t want to go into the last couple of games “with the radio on” as the Hammers bid to put the finishing touches to their climb into safety.

Speaking in his Manager on Monday column on the official site he says: “Maybe 38 points will be enough, but maybe not. For every team, every game is going to be extremely hard to win because almost every team is fighting for something.

“You don’t want to go into the last couple of games or the last game with the radio on, wanting to know what the score is there and there.

“We want to avoid that and, to be comfortable, we need a few more points. We want it, not only to avoid [that situation] but also to climb up the table. Still we can finish really high if we win a few games.

“We need to approach every match game-by-game and try and win it. Or at least don’t lose it. Then, move on to the next one and try and try.

“I’m not talking about only about keeping the distance, but also about climbing the table.

“Ronald [Koeman] said after the game, and he’s very honest and straight, that only one team played today and only one team deserved to win. That was us.

“We were better than them on Saturday, they are not happy with their performance. If they played like that [regularly] they wouldn’t be where they are.

“Part of the reason why they played like that was us. You can’t say that they were a team without motivation to play for something. They are not middle of the table and waiting for the season to finish, but we were on top of them and aggressive.”

10th is not “really high” Slaven!

  • kevin says:

But it would probably secure his job , John . Anyway I think he’s right about needing a few points more just be sure and more comfortable .

  • Stan The Man says:

I bet Sunderland and Boro think it is really high right now John lol
Slaven was of course talking about the whole English league pyramid so tenth of ninety-two is very high.He just clarified it with me on the dog lol

Can’t believe what Palace are doing, I’m just saying, nothing BFS related specifically but had them nailed on for relegation a few weeks ago.,

    • GW says:

And to think we gave the messiah and his team a right good hiding 😂😂

    • Stan The Man says:

They have some very good players Pop,that they were so low in the first place was pretty staggering.
I know you were not bringing up BFS but i get really irked by all the comparison making by some fans between what he would have done and what we have been doing.
He left two seasons ago for god sake who cares what he might or might not have done with this squad.
I appreciate what he did and bare him little animosity but for heavens sake i wish some would stop this Sam wouldnt have,Sam would have BS lol

My Palace obsession comes from being Croydon born and having a best mate and neighbour as ST holders….nothing at all to do with BFS.

        • Stan The Man says:

Im sure they will get fed up of him in a season or two once the euphoria of staying up has diminished lol

Reckon Bilic should get on the blower to Mark Hughes & arrange a bit of ‘You scratch my back I’ll scratch yours’. Swallow yer pride Slaven & settle for a draw! Apparently this is – or used to be- standard in Italy towards the end of the season. Clubs ‘help each other out’ on the understanding the favour gets returned. Disgraceful. As if upstanding English teams would do such a thing.
