Bilic set to bring back midfielder

andre-ayew-west-ham_3766957Andre Ayew’s first goal ‘heroics’ from a yard are unlikely to keep him in the West Ham line-up for the trip to Leicester City at the weekend.

Slaven Bilic has admitted that the club’s record signing is not yet up to full speed but was forced to use him for Manu Lanzini at his former club Swansea where he inevitably scored hos first goal for his new club.

But with Lanzini having suffered only a minor injury after taking a knock in the ribs on training ground, the Argentine is likely to return to the attacking midfield slot.

Ayew commenting on his goal said: “I think it was important to get the goal for the squad and to get my first goal here. I started the season in a very difficult way, but I’m trying to get back into my best shape.

“Things are getting better now and the boys are helping me, pushing me every day and I’m getting my confidence back.”

However, Bilic is nearly certain to go with Lanzini – who reads Dimi Payet’s game well – but a battle royal will soon be on between Ayew and Lanzini for the starting spot.

The game will come too soon for right back Sam Byram who is expected to rejoin the squad for the match against Manchester United.

Someone will also have to make way for Obiang

I’m not convinced that they’re playing for the same place. There will be games in which they both play – especially as Ayew gets back to full speed.
