Bookies reckon Austin destination sealed

|

Charlie_austin_3147013bAston Villa have been backed from 16/1 to odds on with Sky Bet to sign Charlie Austin.

Despite constant speculation that West Ham have been interested in the player ClaretandHugh has regularly reported that the club are cool on the QPR hitman.

They believe at £15 million he is over-priced and have doubts about his fitness record.

Villa boss Tim Sherwood, however, with Christian Benteke on the brink of a £32 million move to Liverpool and having sold Fabian Delph to Manchester City  is now a massive favourite to get Austin.

West Ham, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Spurs have all been linked to the England man too, however Tim Sherwood looks to have taken a step towards bagging Austin.

Once again it shows how stubborn we can be as a club with negotiations, but we were willing to be a ridiculous sum for Carroll and the stupid salary he gets, why did we not go in with a player exchange and serious offer! We may regret it if the goals don’t come!

Shame did think we could get shot of Nolan and Jarvis as part of the deal,
I would prefer Others who can go wide as well,
Gervinho of Roma scores regularly goals and Premium experience,
Don’t like Borini ,Hernandez is over priced,
Joel Cambpell of Arsenal would be good

Ahah… Don’t worry Captain Andy Sparrow is ready to come back in 2 years, we don’t need Austin… Anyway Let’s hope we don’t read the same news somewhere else… Otherwise this site loses its credibility and exclusivity… Loool 😀

Not strong enough Matte you have to go into witness protection get a full new name,ID etc then have a lobotomy done so you don’t remember anything of the past and C&H must change it’s name daily, apart from ritual suicide I think we’ve got it covered lol

Maybe going to villa shows his ambition, mind you he’s not gone yet. I agree with what’s been said about Carroll however Austin isn’t the only striker around,I think there’s a nice surprise yet to happen

Are these the same bookies that suspended betting on Austin as they were certain he was off to Newcastle? Ye, I will believe it when a deal is signed.

Villa may have a lot of money sitting around after Delph and the likely move of Benteke and that’s the only reason they are front runners atm but then they have an owner that wants rid so not sure how much he would want to reinvest. Anyway rate Austin but other targets about so if it happens then so be it.

  • spyinthesky says:

Hang on at least 2 other players have had betting stopped recently for the same reasons and have not moved anywhere as yet, days/weeks later.

  • Bob The Iron says:

Bookies odds, suspended betting, load of pony. Its just punters like us in general weighing in their dough. They know Villa will have money to burn if Benteke moves so see Austin as the ideal replacement.Austin is far from gone to Villa. The lad needs to want to in the first place for a start.Long as we dont end up with Adebayour,Borini or Gervinho i will be happy, lol

  • The Demon says:

It’s just lazy idle bookie talk.

They’ve put two and two together and come up with £15m. Villa have got £32m coming for Benteke, so the bookies figure it will be spent on a replacement. Who’s the biggest name ex-Premier League striker who’s most likely to move? Charles Austin. Ergo Austin will go to Villa.

Just remember these are the same bookies who suspended bets on him joining us six weeks ago.

    Rocket science it ain’t.

  • WestGoaHam says:

You’ve never seen a boracic bookie!

  • Lt. Quickdrawovic 1st Slavalry C&H Regt says:

I’ve seen Borat the movie if that helps

  • Ironworker says:

The Sooner Austin goes somewhere the Better !!!
