Boss says West Ham target is going nowhere

Eddie_Howe_3140260bBournemouth manager Eddie Howe has quashed speculation linking Harry Arter with a move to West Ham by insisting the midfielder would be “going nowhere”.

The Republic of Ireland international has been heavily touted for a switch to London Stadium, the Daily Star reporting Hammers boss David Moyes was “eyeing a £15million raid” for the midfielder. But speaking ahead of this afternoon’s game, Howe insisted the 27-year-old remained an “integral” part of his plans.

Asked whether he was worried West Ham may come calling, the Cherries boss told the Bournemouth Daily Echo:

“I’m not concerned we would get a call because, from my perspective, Harry is going nowhere. He’s integral to the team, we gave him a four-year contract in the summer demonstrating our love for him.In my mind, he is so important to us.”

“When he is playing well he is here, there and everywhere on the pitch. He has an impact on all moments,” added Howe. “I’d like to think Harry is back to his best now. When he plays well, the team tends to play well. He is a driving force and almost the heartbeat of the team in the middle of the pitch. He is going to be a key player between now and the end of the season.”
