The claim from talkSPORT that Jarrod Bowen will leave to become an Aston Villa player this summer will have West Ham supporters worried and concerned over the ripple effect any such departure may have on other ‘key players’, the very players which the Kretinsky- Gold led board had pledged to try and keep at the club.

Separating out the emotions, if Villa decide to pay the claimed £50 million which West Ham are asking for his signature there’s an argument to say  that selling Bowen at nearly thirty year sold makes a lot of sense, if he’s determined to put his career first (and who could blame him for that).

The worry for Irons supporters is that the sale of the captain could see an exodus follow: West Ham simply cannot afford to lose all of their key players and hope to replace them in time for the season starting in six weeks.

Taty- reported as wanted by AC Milan

So when a report claims former Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim – now at AC Milan – plans a bid for Taty Castellanos this summer, the alarm bells do start to chime louder.

The Argentine striker would be crucial to West Ham’s promotion attempts, along with Bowen: If the Hammers lose their skipper then likely Castellanos, Mavropanos and Diouf would follow, along with Summerville, Fernandes of course plus Areola, Todibo, Wan Bissaka, Pablo… That would leave poor old Tomas Soucek likely to be the last man standing (only on one leg) at London Stadium with a massive problem for Nuno ahead of the Championship season start.

Worrying times indeed for season ticket holders who have renewed in their thousands and now trying to imagine West Ham without any of their squad from last season pulling on the shirt in August.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

We will just have to wait & see; but surely, the odds must be on us losing the core of last season’s team. Unless something stupendous happens, I fear an almost unrecognizable squad (apart from several of our youngsters) in the Championship. Relegation was, after all, a disaster !
