 Bowen wants to become a Hammers legend

Jarrod Bowen used the England press conference to let the world know why he is West Ham through and throughnd wants to become a Hammers legend. And  maybe in doing so  brought an embarrassed smile to the face of a former team-mate who shall remain nameless!

Called up by Gareth Southgate. Jarrod was launched into a press conference and wasn’t slow in answering questions on why he had signed a seven year deal at the club.

It has been the Hammers story of the week and shows Jarrod as a throwback to better times when players remained dedicated to one club.

As a result he will become a hero and in recent years probably second only to Mark Noble to not only stay at with the club but take every opportunity to say why.

He loves this club of ours and has made it clear that he remained because we took a chance on him when nobody else would and he wanted to offer his act of faith in the club as a result.

Bowen wants to keep giving special moments to the fans

Speaking at the England presser he said: “I think I can do more. As a player, you’re always looking at the next goal or next big thing you can do. You don’t really have a minute to rest, sit back and think about what you’ve done. But I want to keep giving those moments to the fans. I want to keep giving those goals, those important moments.

I’ve been here three-and-a-half years now and I think once I got this contract signed, to show that this is where I want to be and where I want to play my football, I think people will respect that even more.

Bowen reveals he has thought about becoming a Hammers legend

Hopefully I can go down as a legend in years to come. That’s something I’ve definitely thought about, because I’ve seen the treatment the older professionals get here and how loved and welcome they are, even when they’ve finished playing.
