|
stijn-vandenbrouckeHead of Medical and Sports Science, Stijn Vandenbroucke has given his regular injury update to the club’s website. He has revealed that Andy Carroll, Manuel Lanzini and Diafra Sakho are all set to return to action next month.
Stijn told WHUFC.com “Injury-wise, we picked up a couple of minor knocks at Newcastle United last weekend but we hope to recover the players affected for the next game against Manchester City on Saturday. Andy Carroll is making good progress after suffering a hamstring injury at Bournemouth last week and has started running. We hope to have him available for the manager again on schedule, four weeks after he suffered the initial injury, by the middle of February.”
“Manuel Lanzini is going well with his rehab after suffering a thigh injury against Liverpool just after Christmas. He is recovering well and we hope to have him back available in February.”
“Finally, Diafra Sakho was involved in a minor car accident this week. The Club doctor gave him a thorough check-up and we are pleased that he did not suffer any new injuries in this accident. Diafra did not miss a day of his rehab from the thigh injury he suffered in the game against West Bromwich Albion and is on course to return in February.”
