Carroll may get first run out tonight

Carroll fist upHammers fans will be keeping a close eye on tonight’s line-up for the clash at Ipswich Town following the absence of Andy Carroll from action against Stevenage Town at the weekend.

Fears have arisen that the big man may have picked up a niggle in early training but ClaretandHugh learned this morning that all is well with the big man.

And  whether the No 9 gets a Portman Road run out or not, he will definitely be on the ‘plane for New Zealand which leaves London tomorrow night.

The advance party which includes many backroom staff members,  leaves this evening and will be followed by the players tomorrow evening.

Two sides will compete at Ipswich in which we have been assured Aaron Cresswell will have an opportunity of saying his goodbyes to his former fans.

Not ideal from the Town point of view of course but the player has spoken out in the local press this week of his affection for the supporters and has thanked them for their support.

The Irons will be looking for a morale-boosting win over the Tractor Boys before they head off to NZ.

Mauro Zarate is a near certain starter in a team which could also see Carlton Cole start.

Kick off at Portman Road is 7.45
