Cresswell looks for a United double

|

Amid all the deeply disappointing  poor away performances comes a huge chance to provide a really special moment on Saturday evening at Old Trafford

Few will forget the fabulous victory over Manchester United back in September on what was the best home performance following our poor start to the season.

This weekend could be ever more special as the team go in hunt of an unlikely double after a 2019 which has seen us fail to pick up a single victory on the road.

The team has come in for much criticism of late with individuals being singled out for special blame attention but Saturday can provide one of those  occasions when we realise this is West Ham and this is what we do.

It will need every bit of desire that the gaffer has been discussing regularly of late but there can be no greater incentive than that double to give the confidence for a serious end of season flourish.

Discussing it Aaron Cresswell told the official site: ““It would be special if we could complete the double over them, but we know how good a team they are and they have some fantastic players.

“But they have some tough games right now, starting with their game against Barcelona in the Champions League last night, and then us on Saturday. Hopefully we can create an upset and it would be a massive victory for us if we can do that,

“You’d be lying if you said it wasn’t a good time to play them in between the two legs against Barcelona, but on the other hand they’re still fighting for the Champions League spots in the Premier League so they don’t want to slip up. It’s certainly going to be a tough game.

“The way we played in the second half at Chelsea gives us hope that we can get a result there. We know we’ve got tough away games at the moment, but we’re aiming to create as many chances as we can to try and win the game.”
