Aaron Cresswell is as disappointed as the rest of us to have come away from Liverpool with nothing but is realistic enough to blame the team in part.
He reckons we could have made more of the chances we had and a bit more of the match in general so now it’s a case of heads down and concentrating on the Fulham game.
Any slight fears he may have suffered even a minor groin injury appear to have been dispelled with his words that he intends to get on with things this week.
He played on for the remainder of the game after looking in trouble during the second half and is clearly ok ahead of the weekend match.
He had a decent game yesterday and like the squad and the rest of us felt we deserved more than yet another Anfield defeat.
But he’s usually pretty phlegmatic in interviews and makes it clear that despite the late defeat he believes the side has progressed over the opening games.
Commenting at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/november/01-november/aaron-cresswell-were-disappointed-come-away-nothing he said: “We’ll go again, get our heads down and work hard all next week.
“We said in the changing room after the game that we were a little bit disappointed to come away with nothing,
“We knew coming here was not going to be easy and I felt we dealt with the pressure really well, and the threat in behind with the three lads they’ve got upfront.
“On another night we could have taken our chances a little better and made a bit more of it. We’re feeling disappointed but maybe on another night we’d have got something out of it.
“That’s a sign of progress. On the back of four good results against top sides, to come to Anfield and feel disappointed not to come away with something [shows that].
