No sooner had the reports come in this afternoon that Nuno’s “long game’ to re-sign Axel Disasi on a permanent deal than a fly in the ointment appeared, if true likely to quash West Ham fans’ rising optimism that the best defensive due the Hammers have had in years might be getting back together.
Disasi had, apparently, agreed to terms in principle to rejoin West Ham in their Championship campaign but wanted time to see if better offers came in: Fair enough for the 28 year old who is Premier League proven and who stood out in West Ham’s losing cause last season.
However it would seem that the chances of Disasi re-joining his former team mates have taken a downturn just this afternoon with the news from footballfancast.com in the last couple of hours that:
“Crystal Palace now attempting to hijack West Ham move for Axel Disasi with talks opened
French reporter Fabrice Hawkins says that the Eagles are preparing an offer to sign Disasi from Chelsea and have made him their priority replacement for Lacroix.

Disasi – now linked with Premier League neighbours Crystal Palace
Talks between the two London clubs are already under way, meaning Palace could now attempt to hijack West Ham’s agreement before Disasi gives his final approval.”
Which will be a further downer for fans already looking anxiously at the boardroom and trying to work out who is running their club for the next two months: The thought of proven Disasi re-joining would have been a welcome flip. However, it isn’t over until the fat lady sings and whist she might be clearing her throat, she’s not yet on her feet.
Stop being so dramatic, we know who is running the club regardless of ownership.
Just do something !
NO. no rumour Jeeps. iv read it twice that they were going after Dasasi also mate. but i agree with you 1 MILLION % we shouldn’t broadcast every single player that we like and is on our radar, keep it more in house. hush hush like. C O Y I ;s
We can’t expect any players that will get top league offers to come to a championship team and one in some confused disarray. We have gone from some Kretinsky inspired stability and serious club management to who knows what for maybe two months.
What player is coming to that that can play in a top league team? It’s good to be optimistic but relegation is a total disaster and we have to be realistic and settle for younger unproven players on the way up or past their peak older players that can do a job.
The nonsense linking us to Premiership players is just that – nonsense.
One of the draw backs of over reporting every single detail.
Next we’ll have updates over Nuno’s pulse rate.
Nuno has a pulse?
Early July whu were linked to Oscar Mingueza a free agent (not first time also Nov 2025).
Plays centre back, right back, mid defence battle for player was won by Crystal Palace.
Unless they are looking for another player in same position this could just be a rumour.
