Former West Ham manager David Moyes has defended his Hammers record live on TV.
Speaking beIN Sports Moyes told viewers “There were eight or nine clubs that could have gone down at that time and West Ham were one of them, we thought we did a really good job with what we had, there was a bit of changing to be done in the window, we had to try to get a few players out and change it around a little bit. But in the end if you look what we did with Marko Arnautovic in how he came on and changed from being a wide player and someone who a lot of people thought was a bit sultry and didn’t perform that well. We could him to be a centre forward who was outstanding in the period and in truth I think he could play for most of the top teams.”

I have said on here before that I think Moyes was under appreciated and made good use of the resources at his disposal. He has also been largely respectful in his comments as has his deputy Stuart Pearce (unlike BFS). However the owneers chose to go in a different direction
After yesterday’s second half display Everton will not be a pushover and I think all of our last seven matches will be tough – so the challenge is out there for Pelle and his staff to see how many points we can get from the last seven games
I saw that Alex V on KUMB was calling for Pelle’s head (I respect Alex V from his Westham online days). I wouldn’t go that far – but do feel that he has something to prove in the last 7 games.
I think that 7th is beyond us (and in any case in Man City dont win the cup then 7th might not qualify for EUFA league) – but if Pelle can’t better last season’s 13th finish then he cant regard the season as a success
I agree with most of that Zahama. A few weeks back the points per game record of the two managers were identical after the same number of games. Now Pellegrini will have moved a fraction ahead, but given the money he had available & the fact that Moyes had to work with players he had not chosen put Moyes ahead in my book. Pellegrini also had now had nearly a full season in which he has not sorted out the defence or dealt with the poor start mentality in so many games. But I agree that a full assessment should wait until end of season. Assuming that he gets a pretty big transfer budget in the summer the real test of his ability may come next season. He has done ok but I think the jury is still out- or should be.
