Reports that West Ham have sanctioned a loan move for youngster Kaelan Casey suggest that they’ve solved their Centre back crisis and have a player en route to London.
ExWHUEmployee’s confirmation of Casey’s impending move came earlier:
“West Ham are set to sanction the loan move of Kaelan Casey to Stevenage for the season, its been reported by ExWHUEmployee.
The Academy graduate is set to head off to join the League One side to continue his development and gain valuable first team opportunities.”
The Hammers are still reported as being ‘interested’ in a trio of centre backs, Michael Keane from Everton having fallen through and the latest at lunchtime being a report that the Wout Faes interest is ‘on hold’:

Still don’t really understand why we or any other team for that matter, leave it until deadline day to sign players we obviously need. These guys are supposed to be professionals in their field yet consistently get things so very wrong. So frustrating for all our fans…

This is an all too familiar, same old, same old, Summer window. The dead hand of Sullivan remains all too evident. We’ve raked in a good £200m plus big wages saved on the leavers and for what?
What on Earth are they thinking? Neither Keane nor Faes are as good as what we already have. These are physically and mentally slow, relegation-from-the Championship level players. I would absolutely hate this. Just stop!
It might suggets that they are close to signing a central defender or it might mean they are happy with Kilman.
This is very foolish as Kilman is a liability and centre back has been the biggest issue for over a year so should have been the priority. Very poor transfer management by the club, but nothing new about that.
Don’t expect a promotion push this yera if we have to rely on Kilman.
