The latest round in what is proving to be a fairly protracted negotiation for the transfer of Aaron Wan Bissaka to Aston Villa seems to have concluded with a blunt rebuttal of the villains’ proposal, according to reports today.

West Ham fans won’t be surprised since Wan Bissaka’s capture from Manchester United was the summer of ’24’s most protracted Tim Steidten deal, seeming to last virtually the whole transfer window.

Transfer-Wan-Bissaka-West Ham

Wan Bissaka’s move from Manchester United was easily the most protracted set of negotiations in the summer of ’24

Wan Bissaka, a West Ham player in name only following his fall from grace with the Manager, is hoping to secure an exit and yesterday, apparently, agreed personal terms with the Birmingham side but the two clubs have as yet not agreed on the terms of any deal.

According to talk-villa.com:

“Aston Villa have reportedly had a loan offer for West Ham United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka rejected as we search for a new right-back.

The 28-year-old has gained valuable experience at the top level through spells with Crystal Palace, Manchester United and the Hammers, but is now expected to leave following their relegation to the Championship”

West Ham reportedly slapped a £25 million price tag on Wan Bissaka: Everton were also reported as being interested, so it will surely come as no surprise to Unai Emery’s side that the Hammers aren’t interested in a loan deal. Perhaps with an obligation attached, there could be some common ground.

With no future at London Stadium since he lost his starting place to Kyle Walker Peters, and with his replacement already signed, the former Hammer of the Year will be keen to get on, get out and resurrect his career, having determined he had no desire to demean himself by playing his football in the Championship.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

We’ll see what happens if no one makes an offer to buy Wan Bissaka for what we want

He may have to eat humble pie and play since he needs to put himself in the shop window for January if he doesn’t get sold now

A pity – I think that it wasn’t easy for him to refuse the DRC president’s invitation to stay and celebrate their World Cup qualification

The number of players leaving is now getting alarming

Stability in the boardroom would help

not sure it’s protracted Martin , the player has agreed his own required personal terms with another Club and then simply said “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here” , villa then seem to have offered to take our player on loan for the season on the never never and then might or might not give him back at the end depending on how they/he does and if the moon is in the seventh house ! is it any wonder that we’ve said i think nicht ? x
