Delighted Gold looks ahead

|

David Gold was in no mood to hide his delight at yesterday’s result after the dreadful run of results under sacked boss  Manuel Pellegrini.

The club’s co chairman took to Twitter soon after the victory over Bournemouth to declare: “West Ham 4 Bournemouth 0 Welcome back David Moyes. Captain Mark Noble you were magnificent. dg”

And later talking to ClaretandHugh he said: ” Mark was incredible of course but this was a magnificent team effort and I also thought Angelo Ogbonna was superb.

“It was a brilliant effort by them all and although David has only been here a couple of days and has had little chance to get his ideas across yet, you have to give him credit for making an immediate impact.

“This was the perfect start for him and the fans. And let’s be honest it was all an incredible relief for everybody associated with West Ham.

“We have tough fixtures ahead but I believe we will all be looking forward  with more confidence after that performance.”

Like David Gold I was delighted and surprised by the result yesterday. I am also realistic to know that we should not get carried away with the performances of players like Noble against a very poor team. We need to buy a player in midfield who will go box to box so we can win the games we need to win. We also need to play two up top, when I saw the team selection I thought we were going back to 1 up yesterday but to be fair to Moyes he played Anderson in the 10 role close to Haller and it worked yesterday. I still believe we need another forward to play two up top but this player mush have pace and be clever. I see us linked with this Brazilian who I watched in the final with Liverpool and to be honest I was not impressed at all. I would much prefer us to bring in Jarod Bowen or a player like that and perhaps stick with Antonio up top and perhaps Yarmo as another strike option. I am not a fan of Moysey but no one was happier than I was with the result yesterday, glad to be proven wrong but it will take more than 1 game to change my mind.

Well done, well said and well deserved. DG is just like the rest of us with Claret and Blue blood running through his veins and hopefully, we have now started a journey that will provide a basis for a healthy and successful future.
One Swallow does not a spring make……….. But one thing that our club won’t lack whilst Moyes is the manager is HEART and PASSION!

    • the big question is : “When do we start calling him Moysie” Looool

I prefer ‘DM’ as, like a good pair of Docs, he’s ideal for giving the players a kick up the backside if needed. The next 2 games will tell us much more about how the rest of the season is likely to pan out and how many new players he’ll reckon he needs. For me, another DM or box to box midfielder has to be the priority, just like it was in the summer, as we are so short of options in that area. COYI.
