Antonio update

|

Michail Antonio has a decent chance of making it for the game against Sheffield United a week on Friday.

The exciting midfielder/striker was forced to miss yesterday’s game against Bournemouth after a scan showed he had liquid on his hamstring.

And we were told that it would have been “very dangerous” to play him and could have led to a long lay-off had he done so.

However, the medical assessment is that he has a good chance of appearing at Bramall Lane although our insider explained by e mail that “absolutely no chance will be taken given his history of problems with hammies.

Typically, Antonio was desperately keen to play, but the club were having none of it and thankfully the team more than did the business without him.

There’s near despair behind the scenes at the situation surrounding Jack Wilshere who has had injury after injury interspersed with various sickness bugs.

The club insist they won’t pay him off this summer but it would some as no surprise were they to change their minds.

Antonio has been the only highlight over the past few games. However, I’d like to see more of this Haller/Anderson combination that was so effective last night even though it was in its infancy. So, for me – leave Antonio to get fully fit over next 2-3 games and then what a great selection headache we will have.

Couldn’t agree more, Antonio is a right winger, so between him and snoddy, they offer something different and great competition for the wing, plus they are 2 great characters, be nice to get a box to box midfielder this window and a quality striker if the right one becomes available 🤞⚒

Interesting.i heard that Moyes not have included him to make clear his displeasure about Antonio’s car accident around Xmas.

Let us not go over the top about last night
Bournemouth was a Xmas gift for the Hammers
Fleetwood would have beaten them !!
I think many supporters watch West Ham(Noble in particular ) through rose-tinted spectacles
