Departing Hammer wanted for Football League move – report

|

Middlesbrough are eyeing a swoop for Ryan Fredericks this summer, according to a new report.

The Mail on Sunday, via West Ham Zone, reported over the weekend that the Championship club are interested in a deal to bring the right-back into the club as they aim to build on what turned into an impressive season in the second-tier.

Boro ultimately finished seventh, five points behind Luton Town, who took the final play-off spot.

Fredericks has confirmed that he is leaving the Hammers at the end of his contract, with that date coming on June 30, and there is said to be interest from Boro in bringing him in.

That would make sense, too, as they are set to sell Djed Spence in this summer transfer window, with Spurs lining up a potential £20m bid.

Fredericks struggled for minutes at the London Stadium last season and made just seven Premier League appearances under David Moyes.
