Determined Diangana states his aims

|

West Ham prodigy Grady Diangana has admitted that he is trying to do as well as Harvey Barnes did with WBA during his loan spell with the Birmingham side.

Barnes was a big part of a very successful loan spell with the Baggies last season scoring 9 goals in 26 appearances before being recalled to Leicester in January.

Diangana has put in 4 goals in 15 appearances for the Baggies under Slaven Bilic.

He said: “I have watched footage of what Barnes did when he was at West Brom,” Diangana said. “I took good things from that and learned from what he did.

“He is quicker than me and scored a lot of solo goals, but some of his other goals were knowing where to be at the right time and the timing of the run.”

“I watched the off-the-ball movement because I’m at a stage where I’m trying to create and score goals and trying to find the best and most efficient ways to get a goal or an assist and seeing which movements work. Hopefully I can push on like he’s done.”

Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear he wanted Diangana to carry on with WBA which fought off the recall rumours that were floating about..

“It’s been an amazing season so far – I’m enjoying it,” he continued. “I want to keep playing football. I’m at the stage of my career where I just want to play games and show the world what I can do. For me to improve, I need to be playing.”
